Daytona Cubs Vs Dunedin Blue Jays April 14th

I have a few photos today from the game I shot on April 14th between the Daytona Cubs and the Dunedin Blue Jays. Dunedin scored 2 runs in the first and 3 in the second inning and never looked back winning the game 11-6 over the Cubs.

My next post should either be next Wednesday or Thursday and it should be an interesting one. Long time Daytona Cubs fan Front Row Joe will mark his 1000th consecutive game at the Jack. The Cubs will be wearing throwback jerseys from their first season to mark the occasion. I look forward to sharing my photos with everybody from the game.

First Game of the Season

Tonight was the first game of the season for me which featured the Daytona Cubs in an exhibition game against Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

I had been waiting for this game for a couple of weeks to have the chance to knock a little bit of the rust off. I had felt at the game that I was really rusty, but after looking at the photos from the game I was not as rusty as I thought.

I am really excited about this year for a couple of reasons. This is going to be my 3rd year as the Dayotna Beach Cubs team photographer and my 2nd year as one of the Florida State League Photographers. I have also started shooting for Four Seam Images
a image agency specializing in all levels of amateur and professional baseball. I am very honored that they asked me to be a part of what they have going. Be sure to check my blog often as I will be updating on a weekly basis now that the season is starting.

The last inning that I was at the game I got the shot above of Josh Vitters watching his 3 run shot fly out of the park. All in all this was not a bad way to spend my Wednesday night.

Baseball America Picks the Florida State League Top 20 Prospects

This week Baseball America picked the top 20 prospects for the Class A Advanced Florida State League. The FSL is the league that I cover the most for MiLB and I decided to post the 16 of the 20 players that I have from the list. In the above photo is Mark Rogers, this photo was taken in the first game that I shot this season.

I took this photo of Shane Peterson at Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Florida. I only had the chance to see Shane twice this year, in this game and at the Florida State League All Star Game in Fort Myers.

This photo of Chris Parmelee is from the Florida State League All Star Game in Fort Myers, Florida in the Home Run Derby. Chris went on to win the Home Run Derby for his hometown Fort Myers Miracle.

I had the chance to see Caleb Gindil many times this year. I shot this photo in Daytona early in the season when the Brevard County Manatees were playing the Daytona Cubs at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.

The only time that I had the chance to see David Bromberg this year was at the Florida State League All Star Game in Fort Myers.

I got this shot of Josh Vitters at the last home game for the Daytona Cubs this year. Josh is ranked the number one prospect in the Cubs minor league system by Baseball America. He was promoted to the Class A Advanced Daytona Cubs in the second half of the season.

This photo was taken at the Florida State League All Star game. Kirk was the runner up the Home Run Derby.

I had to chance to see Matt Dominguez at 2 different levels this year. This photo was taken in Daytona when Matt was playing for the Jupiter Hammerheads. I also saw him when he was playing for the Jacksonville Suns, who won the Southern League Championship this year.
